Special Coats

Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE, is the commonly used fluoropolymer.

The most common application of PTFE that people will be familiar with is as a non-stick coating for kitchen cookware (pans, baking trays etc.).

PTFE is used as a cost-effective solution for a wide variety of industries, ranging from Food Processing and Packaging through to Oil & Gas, Chemical Processing, and many other industries and processes where the non-stick and release properties of PTFE contribute to improved product and process performance.

 

Bakeware Coatings – Description

Bakeware coatings are food-contact safe protective coatings applied on baking trays, molds, pans, and oven accessories to improve non-stick performance, durability, and corrosion resistance during repeated heating cycles.

🔹 What they are

Bakeware coatings are specially formulated powder or liquid coating systems designed to withstand:

• High oven temperatures (typically 180°C to 250°C+)
• Repeated baking cycles
• Food oils, sugars, and acidic ingredients

🔹 Common types

• PTFE (Teflon) coatings – excellent non-stick, easy release
• Silicone-based coatings – good flexibility and heat resistance
• Sol-gel ceramic coatings – PFAS-free, eco-friendly non-stick alternative
• Epoxy-polyester modified systems (for base layers in some industrial bakeware)
